The law of God is the track upon which the kingdom rolls.  The sacrifice which Jesus made opened the door to eternal life for those who honor Jesus as their Savior; and obey the law of the gospel.  Without law there is anarchy.  When unjust laws are created by man, rebellion is the result.  The law was established by God, before the foundation of the world (Isa. 14:10).  As it is a perfect law, rebellion can never be tolerated.  When Lucifer rebelled, he and those who followed him were cast down; never to have a physical body.  Had there been no law, Lucifer could not have been condemned, “where no law is, there is no transgression.” (Rom. 4:15)  Cain was cursed and sent into the wilderness because he violated the law, “Thou shalt not kill.”

The law of God provides for the organization of the kingdom, membership in the kingdom, and administration of the kingdom.  Knowledge of good and evil is planted in the hearts of all men.  Few, though, are afforded the opportunity in the flesh to know God, understand His law, and keep His commandments.  All others will be taught after death, in hell, with other spirits in prison.  Hell is not an appropriate word.  Its proper translation is a hidden place; where disobedient spirits are kept until the resurrection.  Jesus opened a dispensation of the gospel to the spirits in prison; and spent three days preaching to them.

Like God, the law is perfect and unchangeable.  It was given to a thousand generations.  “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.” (Deut. 7:9)  Jesus kept a perfect law.  Although he fulfilled the added law of Moses, He did not change the spiritual law.

“17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt. 5)

The law of the gospel was given to Adam.  The early records have been lost.  None could have been righteous before God without obeying the gospel.  There is no other way to enter the kingdom of God other than obedience to the gospel.  “8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen [Gentiles] through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.” (Gal. 3)  Who administered the gospel to Abraham?  Noah’s father knew the first born sons of every generation from Adam to Noah.  Abraham lived with Noah and Shem for twenty-nine years.

When Israel violated the law under Moses, they were placed under a temporal law in addition to the spiritual law.  A new priesthood was introduced on earth to administer this law:  the Levitical Priesthood.  This added law of Moses was to remain; until Jesus fulfilled His mission.  He fulfilled this added law; but, the Jews failed to honor Him, and remain under this law today.  Gentiles are not bound to the added law of Moses.  The Levitical Priesthood remained among the Gentiles; but they are not bound to administer the ordinances of the added law.

The law is also justice and judgment.  “14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.” (Ps. 89)  If God was to reward evil equally with righteousness, simply on the basis of internal belief, we would have no basis for faith in Him.  The Bible clearly demonstrates God’s judgments on the disobedient.  “5 …I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” (Ex. 20)

The everlasting covenant, which every people of God have honored, requires both worshipping the only true and living God and obedience to His commandments.  This everlasting covenant was given to Adam; and renewed by each generation.  It was given to Abraham; and renewed with Isaac, and again with Jacob.  The covenant was lost during the Egyptian captivity.  It was renewed by Moses; and lost again about four hundred years before Jesus.  Jesus renewed this (new) covenant.  Jesus and the Apostles lived by this everlasting covenant.

Joshua renewed the same covenant in his day.  “15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD… 25 So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem. 26 And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the LORD.” (Joshua 24)

Note Joshua’s reference to the Book of the Law of God.  It was the single most important book of Scripture—mentioned twenty-two times, by name, in the Bible.  The law is noted 529 times in the Bible.  Parts of the book are recorded throughout the Bible; but, this most important book is missing.  The original was kept in the Ark of the Covenant—signed by God.  Copies were made for public use.  One of these copies was taken out of Jerusalem six hundred years before Jesus--before the Babylonian captivity.  From this copy, James J. Strang translated the Book of the Law of the Lord.  It is the only place that records the original Ten Commandments.

The law of God is a most prized possession.  The Book of the Law of the Lord was the most treasured book of Scripture.  The Ark of the Covenant was hidden in a cave; until the time when it is to be brought forth by the will of God.  Almost all copies were lost at about the time of the Babylonian captivity.  James J. Strang claimed to have translated one of these copies that was taken out of Jerusalem about 600 BC.

The truth of this book is evidenced in the first chapter:  The Ten Commandments.  It contains the original Ten Commandments given through Moses.  Orthodox Christians divide the nine commandments found in Exodus and Deuteronomy into ten.  Jesus knew and taught the original ten.  “36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matt. 22)  Christian churches around the world have missed this second most important commandment in their Ten Commandments.  The complete Book of the Law of the Lord is available at www.MormonBeliefs.com.

  TEN  COMMANDMENTS

1) Thou shalt love the Lord thy God.
                2) Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
                3) Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

4) Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
                5) Honour thy father and thy mother.
                6) Thou shalt not kill.
                7) Thou shalt not commit adultery.
                8) Thou shalt not steal.
                9) Thou shalt not bear false witness.
                10) Thou shalt not covet they neighbor's inheritance.

The first law is taught throughout the Bible.  Jesus said, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” How many can honestly say their love toward God is this all embracing?  Most Christians feel their duty extends no further than attending a weekly meeting.  Realization of this law requires an involvement from the time we awake to the time we go to sleep.  “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” (John 14:21)

The second law requires men not to usurp the authority of God.  “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” (Ex. 20:7)  Yet the whole Orthodox Christian world takes His name in vain every day.  “The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us?  none evil can come upon us.” (Micah 3:11)

The third law is the second law found in the Bible; as given to Adam, “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.” (Gen. 2:2)

The Sabbath was given as a sign to distinguish His people from paganism.  His law, including the Sabbath, was given to a thousand generations; as a perpetual covenant.  "Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed." (Ex. 31:16, 17)  But say some, I am not part of the "children of Israel."  If not, you have not been baptized into Christ.   "27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." (Gal. 3)

Jesus did not change the law.  He observed the Sabbath.  Had He violated the Sabbath, he would have sinned; and He was without sin.  "Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth." (1 Pet. 2:22)  "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." (Matt. 5:18)   He used the first day of the week; as that was the day observed by Rome.  It was a convenient time to hold many of His public meetings.

How is it that Christians honor sun day?  Constantine removed the Sabbath; and made the "venerable day of the sun" the day of rest for his reorganized Christian church, in honor of the sun god.  Catholics and Protestants alike still observe the holy day of the sun god.  The Sabbath is a sign between God and saints of God.   Observing the "venerable day of the sun" is an absolute sign of paganism.  It is a mark of the beast.  "And God blessed and sanctified the seventh day." (Gen. 2:3)  The Sabbath is divine; and to call any other day the Sabbath is blasphemy.

How well does Christianity abide by laws four through ten?  Less than half of the households in America have two parents.  Free love and killing have become a way of life.  The Apostle Paul saw through their thin veil of Christian disguise.  “1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” (2 Tim. 3)

Salvation requires adherence to many doctrines and embraces the total soul and family.  A person unable to love God and man, even more than himself, is not fit for the kingdom of God.  Each must circumcise their heart and pledge their will to that of God.  Without a proper knowledge of God and Jesus, and gospel faith, life is vain.  None can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.  Hope of a better resurrection is possible only through obedience to the law and will of God.  There can be no hope of salvation without the Melchisedec Priesthood.

Without obeying the law of God, none can have hope of salvation, “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (Phil. 2:12)  God established love as a foundation of His government. 22)

Man is afforded the opportunity to submit his will to the will of God.  The Bible is full of examples of the judgment of God on the disobedient.  Israel had the opportunity to remain the people of God.  They were given the choice.

“1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God… 9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.”

“15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee.” (Deut. 28)

But, they would not.  Jesus cried, “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!” (Luke 13:34)  Exactly forty years (one generation) after they had Jesus crucified, the Roman Army destroyed over ninety percent of the Jews.

The Gentiles were offered the same laws.  They would not; and they lost the Melchisedec Priesthood, by which eternal life is possible, for 1260 years (Rev. 13).  “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.” (Rev. 14:6)  The Gentiles were to be given one last opportunity in the last days to obey the law of God (Rev. 14:6).  Again they did not; and they lost most of the Melchisedec Priesthood.  “5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. 6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.” (Isa. 24)  Only a very small remnant was to remain; and be gathered with the house of Israel.

Biblical prophesy does not tell of the Gentiles becoming an acceptable people before God.  Instead, it tells of the Gentiles increasing in wickedness; and finally being destroyed.  “15 For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen [“goi,” Gentile]: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head. 16 For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.” (Obad 1)  The Gentiles killed over ninety percent of Israel and made captives of the rest.

This judgment coming upon the Gentiles is the result of their failure to live by the law of God.  They will be destroyed; even as the Jews were destroyed.  That destruction is now on the doorstep.  Jesus gave the keys to determining the timing of this desolation.  “24 And they [the Jews] shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled… 32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.” (Luke 21)  This prophesy was fulfilled after the six day war in 1967.  Biblical generations are forty years.

When Jesus returns, He will gather the house of Israel from the corners of heaven and earth.  They will once again be His people, and He will be their God.

“9 For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth. 10 All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us. 11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: 12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, AND OF ALL THE GENTILES, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this.” (Amos 9)

“37 Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: 38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God: 39 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: 40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. 41 Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.” (Jer. 32)
